Okay, so I may not be the most interesting read and I may not say anything that you don't already know but this diary is mainly for myself. I enjoy sharing it with others, particularly my close friends so they know what's happening in my world, but its still mainly for me. I love to type out my thoughts. Its a great break from my otherwise hectic day. And I love reading over old entries and seeing how much life has changed. So enjoy the read but try not to be too critical.

One-Eighth of a Brain But Still Functioning!
October 26, 2006 - 8:17 a.m.

Good morning! So even though I went to sleep (finally) after 2 a.m., I've been awake since shortly before 7:30. I guess I can't complain. At least I'm not dragging my butt today. Sometimes when I am awake as late as that, I debate just staying awake. After all, what's the difference between no sleep and 2 hours? Sometimes you feel more tired after only two hours. Oh well.

This afternoon we're heading over to Tedi's for a little while to visit. She redid her kitchen. A big makeover. I would love to do that to mine. :) Not that I'm not happy at all with my kitchen, after all, it is twice the size of the one in our last house. I would just love to put the tile in and redo the cabinets. And I could use the "whatnot" shelf. Her house is as old as our last one. The kitchen was very outdated with a very 1960's feel. They stripped the kitchen walls, pulled down every cabinet, stripped the floors down to the subflooring and tossed out the dated appliances (stove, oven sink, etc.). The flooring is now all really pretty tile, the cabinets allow for a lot more storage space. They added a much needed pantry and got new appliances. I'm excited to see it. And the fact that I haven't visited with her in about 3 weeks is a big plus, too.

I have a lot to do today. I finished going through Morgan's clothes and putting away the clothes that are too small or are for the summer. Today I have to finish the same project with Haidyn's clothes. I started yesterday but did not get very far because I had to start dinner. Once I get done going through clothes, I have to get caught up on the laundry. Paul's and my laundry baskets are over flowing. I haven't had that problem since we sold the old house. I need to figure out what I'm going to make for dinner. Homemade macaroni and cheese with broccoli or sweet and sour chicken & stir fry. I'm leaning towards the sweet & sour. We're watching the kids on Friday and they really liked my homemade mac and cheese so I will probably make that tomorrow. Its really good and a lot healthier than buying the boxed stuff.

I absolutely love cooking & baking. I really want to get the stuff for sugar cookies so that we can have the kids decorate them for thanksgiving or christmas holiday but for the first time in my life, my pantry has no all-purpose flour in it. I can use the bread flour but I am not fond of the taste that it gives. Its not enough to bother anyone else, after all my last batch of cookies was devoured and I used bread flour. But using bread flour for sugar cookies will make them way too fluffy for my taste. I really should get some from Wal-Mart. Its not exactly as if its that far of a drive. I just forget every time I go in there. Its always that way. Tedi and I were talking yesterday. I'm one of those that will load the kids into the car solely to bring a specific item to Paul per his request only to arrive with everything but the one item he asked for. Guh. I am a firm believer that children make you stupid. In our family its a bit of a joke. For each child, you lose a 1/4 of your brain. That would mean that right now, I'm down to 1/8th. That sounds about right to me. That's the way I feel these days anyway.

On that note though, I best be getting to my to-do list! Toodles!
