Okay, so I may not be the most interesting read and I may not say anything that you don't already know but this diary is mainly for myself. I enjoy sharing it with others, particularly my close friends so they know what's happening in my world, but its still mainly for me. I love to type out my thoughts. Its a great break from my otherwise hectic day. And I love reading over old entries and seeing how much life has changed. So enjoy the read but try not to be too critical.
Pipe Dreams?
November 20, 2006 - 8:25 a.m.
Soothing smells and fragrances; calming music; massages.... What do those things make you think of? If you are thinking something that you only hear on a television commercial, I'm with you. Now adays, the only women that seem to get really pampered are the ones that have six figure saleries and nannies. If you're a working woman, especially a mother AND a working woman, you can only imagine those nice relaxing days with mud masks on your face, cucumber slices on your eyes, a little bit of Enya (or something similar) softly playing in the background. The idea of someone massaging your feet and hands with hints of jasmine and chamomile wafting about you is nothing but that... an idea or dream. Or is it? I have a dream; a big one. Its pretty selfish but its okay to have those dreams every once in a while, isn't it? :p I would love to spend a day at a spa. Not just some $50 special, get a back massage and slap a little mud on your face. I'm talking a place that spoils and pampers you to the point that you fall asleep as you sit there in a mud bath or nice foaming bubble bath, a mud mask on your face and those cool cucumbers... so soothing to your tired eyes. A place where you get the works - the foot & hand massages, maybe painted toe nails, a back massage (though I don't think I could handle being completely naked with not but a towel to keep the complete stranger doing my massage from seeing every lump in my backside!). I'd love for a girl friend and I to be able to do this. Spend a good bit of the day at the spa, relaxing and winding down. Then, when we're done being pampered, we change into semi formal attire and have our husbands pick us up and whisk us away to a nice, quiet restaraunt (one where semi formal attire is not out of the ordinary) and enjoy a delicious meal..... Okay, I need to snap back to reality! I have so much to get done today. A ton of running around to do: banking, a trip to the social security office, some minor grocery shopping. I have to make some calls to Morgan's pediatrician to see if they can get her in before Thanksgiving. I have to call my cardiologist and reschedule that missed appointment. I have 3 loads of laundry to do.... Well, I can dream about that wonderful relaxing day anyway.... Hope everyone's day is relaxing with little stress to interrupt.
