Okay, so I may not be the most interesting read and I may not say anything that you don't already know but this diary is mainly for myself. I enjoy sharing it with others, particularly my close friends so they know what's happening in my world, but its still mainly for me. I love to type out my thoughts. Its a great break from my otherwise hectic day. And I love reading over old entries and seeing how much life has changed. So enjoy the read but try not to be too critical.

A Christmas Story
December 26, 2006 - 4:10 p.m.

I'm exhausted. We had one busy weekend. I won't say that we had the most enjoyable Christmas Day ever but it was nice. Over all though, this Christmas has been one of the nicest that we've had in a long time. Paul got into the Christmas spirit more this year than ever since I have known him. He did a wonderful job of putting up the lights outside. From the outside, the house looked wonderful.

We spent Saturday with Mari and Cody, celebrating Christmas early with them. We had a blast. We opened gifts, snacked on home baked goodies and visited while playing with our new "toys". Paul so thoroughly enjoyed his new pipes that we had to pack everything up and move the party to our place so that he and Cody could install the pipes and enjoy the louder, more rumbly sound. After the kids went down for the night, we watched a couple of new movies that Mari & Cody and given eachother for Christmas. It was just a really nice day.

Sunday we headed up to Lebanon. We woke up in wonderful moods but because of the hurried packing and the lack of food until nearly 11am, we were a bit grouchy as we got on the road. After stopping for some water and a bite to eat, we were back on our way and in much better spirits. The highlight of Christmas up at Mom & Dad's was being able to be there as Wes proposed to Alexa on Christmas morning. I got a few pictures for Mom. I hope they turned out well. I haven't had a chance to really look at them yet. I spent a bit of Christmas day going between emotions of frustration and ... not depression but sadness but I won't get into that right now. The ride home was a little less than enjoyable but by the time we got to Mari & Cody's to enjoy a big slice of strawberry cheesecake, my crummy mood had lifted.

This morning greeted me with lots of stuff to do: 2 baskets of laundry that needed folding, a messy kitchen, livingroom, diningroom, and bathroom. The playroom needed to be straightened and the air mattress put away. The beds needed to be made and the trash taken out. Its now after 4pm and I won't exactly say I got a whole lot done but I got somewhere anyway. If I can have the house spotless (or close enough) by tomorrow afternoon, I'll be a happy camper.

Well, I have to get off of here. Haidyn is finished with her afternoon snack and I have a bit more straightening up to do before my hubby gets home. Hope that everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing Christmas!
