Okay, so I may not be the most interesting read and I may not say anything that you don't already know but this diary is mainly for myself. I enjoy sharing it with others, particularly my close friends so they know what's happening in my world, but its still mainly for me. I love to type out my thoughts. Its a great break from my otherwise hectic day. And I love reading over old entries and seeing how much life has changed. So enjoy the read but try not to be too critical.
Day Three
January 31, 2007 - 5:48 p.m.
Day three and counting. Yes, it has been 3 whole days since my cycle was due to appear and it apparently forgot because its not here. No, I'm not pregnant. That would be awesome but no. I have no idea why I'm late. I have never been late for any other reason than pregnancy so go figure. Some might speculate that its because of stress but I have been far more stressed about things and still been on time. Shoot, I couldn't have been much more stressed than I was after we miscarried Aiden and we still got pregnant right away. Go figure. Oh well, huh? Well, we have a new "addition" to our happy little family: a gorgeous 2006 VW Jetta. A little background - Well, Paul and I have been so busy with everything that looking for a new vehicle had been pushed to the back of the "to-do" list. That is, until this afternoon. Shortly after dropping Paul off after lunch (I had made it all the way home and had put Haidyn down for a nap), the salesman that we worked with earlier (a friend) came up to Paul and asked whether we were still looking into buying a New Jetta. Apparently, the head of the finance department happen to see Paul today and remember that we had been looking at a New Jetta. Today was the last day of a promotion that they were having on New Jettas and he thought we'd be interested so he talked to Mike (the salesman) and Mike talked to Paul. Paul called me and asked me to come down and check it out. I stopped and said a prayer that God would be in control and that if we were meant to find a vehicle, that he would open up the doors and then loaded the girls back into the car and headed back to Springfield Imports. The promotion that was being offered was an awesome one at that. No interest for 72 months on any 2006 New Jetta that was in stock. I sat down with Mike to look at what they had on the lot and one car in particular stood out. All of the cars were basically the same package, it was just whether you wanted standard or automatic and of course, which color. But THIS car screamed "ME". It was a dark red (they called it Spicy Red) with leatherette heated seats, sunroof, and a bucket load of other special features that were not standard. I LOVED it. It was perfect. The next question was "is it going to be perfect, financially". We did not want to pay much more than we were already paying for the current Jetta and I let the finance guy know about it. He crunched some numbers and came back with a very attractive offer. After giving us the employee discount of invoice price, it was going to be only $50 more than we are currently paying on the Jetta, which is seven years older. And, with the figure requiring no money down and giving us no interest for 72 months, it was a huge blessing. After having Paul look the car over, we decided to buy the car. So, there it is. A long drawn out explanation as to where our newest "addition" came from. I'm in love with this car! Now we are praying that we can find a buyer for the older Jetta so that we don't have to worry about two car payments. As popular as the TDI is, we shouldn't (Lord-willing) have any problem.
A Heart In Turmoil - July 25, 2007
We have been looking for a newer vehicle for a couple of reasons. First, our baby is nearly to the 100,000 mile mark (only a few dozen short to be exact) and that meant the extended warranty was going bye-bye. Secondly, we are, as everyone knows, trying for our 3rd and you cannot fit a stick figure in the back, let alone another car seat. I had the misfortune of sitting in the back a few months ago while we took a friend home and I had to sit side ways (if that makes any sense) which was QUITE painful and uncomfortable. I went into Springfield Imports right after the New Year to see what they had to offer. There were a couple of nice options, there was one Passat in particular that I drooled over, but nothing fit our budget and the timing was just not right. Paul decided that we'd be better off with a new Jetta considering the price of the Passat that I looked at but he still wanted to wait. So, Paul and I decided to sell our current Jetta outright and then go from there.
