Okay, so I may not be the most interesting read and I may not say anything that you don't already know but this diary is mainly for myself. I enjoy sharing it with others, particularly my close friends so they know what's happening in my world, but its still mainly for me. I love to type out my thoughts. Its a great break from my otherwise hectic day. And I love reading over old entries and seeing how much life has changed. So enjoy the read but try not to be too critical.

Flowers and Mice
May 03, 2007 - 4:52 p.m.

Seriously, what a busy week! We have been super busy with our garden, lawn, and social outings.

Our garden looks wonderful thanks to my wonderful father-in-law. All day Sunday we worked on tilling up the garden with Dad's lawn tractor & attached tiller. What a blessing that was! It would have taken Paul and I days to dig up that rocky garden by hand!! On Monday we planted all of the tomato, lettuce and bell pepper plants that were ready to go into the ground along side the rhubarb and tomato plants that were already planted before tilling. I cannot believe the difference working that dirt made for those plants! Our garden looked pathetic a week ago with nearly all the plants drooping and turning brown. Now they are healthy and wonderfully green, aside from two tomato plants that may or may not pull out of it.

My front garden is ready to be worked on and we are just waiting on the brick that we will be getting from Dad to lay before we fill it in with more dirt and then cedar mulch. I think it will look really good when we are done and I have all of my Columbines planted. I'm thinking that I will put the blue flowers out front and the mixed underneath my kitchen window but we will see. I am very anxious to get working on it but since Paul had such a lean pay period, the mulch will have to wait a couple of weeks. We will possibly be picking up the brick this weekend when we got up to see Mom & Dad.

Tuesday was our third anniversary and my husband did such a good job of letting me know how special he thinks I am. At 7:50am I received a note on my phone telling me Happy Anniversary and then ten minutes later I received another note stating that he was very happy to be my husband. It made my morning! Later on that afternoon there was a knock at my door. When I opened the door, there stood an older gentleman holding the most gorgeous bouquet of my favorite color roses. It brought me to tears. I love my hubby!

*sigh* So switching back to the gardens and such. I have a lot that I still have to do as far as cleaning and such. We apparently have a mouse in our garage (GAG!) so we've got to get things squeaky (haha) clean so that we can deter the little rodent. That is, if he's still alive. Here's an oddity. Last night Paul put 4 traps out in the garage in an attempt to kill it. This morning, one trap was missing. Yes, I did say missing. We've looked and have not been able to locate it. So, now we have to watch our step and our noses just in case the mouse either left the trap somewhere else or (even better) drug it off and set the trap elsewhere and we've got a dead rodent on our hands. GAG! Ewwwwww!! I SO do not like bugs or rodents! Especially mice!!

I need to get back to cleaning. My goal was to have the whole house spotless before this weekend but it doesn't look like that will happen. Hopefully it will at least be close. Anyway. Have an awesome weekend, all!
