Okay, so I may not be the most interesting read and I may not say anything that you don't already know but this diary is mainly for myself. I enjoy sharing it with others, particularly my close friends so they know what's happening in my world, but its still mainly for me. I love to type out my thoughts. Its a great break from my otherwise hectic day. And I love reading over old entries and seeing how much life has changed. So enjoy the read but try not to be too critical.

God's Way or My Way
June 09, 2007 - 10:55 a.m.

Have you ever sat back and taken an account of how much time you spend in prayer and in the Word? Is your prayer time consistent of meal times and bedtime or are you seeking Him wholly throughout the day? Do you take time each day to spend in His Word, allowing God to speak to you through the passages of His text? Are you alone and in solitude with God or do you allow yourself to be distracted by kids, phone calls or other daily hassles? When you read the Word, are you just flipping open the bible and reading what sounds good or do you have a clear direction? Are you asking God before you begin your devotions to open your heart to what God is wanting to show you?

I believe that nothing is more important that an DAILY walk with God. This does not mean simply praying at meals or when you climb into bed right before you drift off to sleep. It means more than just reading a couple of verses or chapters from the Bible on a semi-regular basis. God wants to speak to us through His Word. He wants us to seek Him in the morning. He wants us to fully place Him on the throne in our lives where he belongs. I am learning that quiet time with God is more than saying a prayer and then reading through a couple of verses when I get the chance throughout the week. It is a set time, a daily occurance where I come humbly before the throne of God to seek His guideance and to hear Him speak through His Word. God wants our full attention and all of our hearts when we come before Him.

Are you starting your day with God? Is He the pilot or are you. I believe that God should be glorified in all aspects of our lives. Not only in those areas where we are visible to others, but in the times when we are by ourselves.
