Okay, so I may not be the most interesting read and I may not say anything that you don't already know but this diary is mainly for myself. I enjoy sharing it with others, particularly my close friends so they know what's happening in my world, but its still mainly for me. I love to type out my thoughts. Its a great break from my otherwise hectic day. And I love reading over old entries and seeing how much life has changed. So enjoy the read but try not to be too critical.
Colorado: There and Back
July 16, 2007 - 2:13 p.m.
I am so tired but very content. We had such a wonderful trip to Colorado. We left on the evening of the 5th, shortly after Paul arrived home from work. The plan was for Paul to drive until he became really sleepy and then I'd take over and drive through the night. Paul stopped somewhere between Topeka and Salina around 1am and I started driving. It was such an awesome drive. We crossed the Colorado border around 6am... Paul and the girls, sound asleep. Paul drove from 7am on. We got to the campground around 12pm, I think. Got a lot of wonderful pictures on the way. Camping was awesome. It was great to meet some of Paul's extended family and it was great to be so far from the hustle and bustle of the city. On Sunday we packed up and headed over to his cousin's house for the night and then it was back to Steamboat Springs to do some running around before heading out again. This time to Dave & Jen's in Oak Creek. Paul took us by the old property so that Morgan could see where he grew up. It was a gorgeous drive... more great pics. We stayed two days with Dave & Jen and then headed towards Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park and Denver. It took us 6 hours to get through the mountains and down into Denver and then another hour to find a hotel that wasn't over booked or teeming with creepiness. The next morning, we headed over to the Forney Auto Museum... fun stuff! Then it was off towards home. We stopped over in Salina because Haidyn and I weren't feeling well. So we arrived home on Saturday in the evening. It was a fun trip. As I said, we got lots of great pictures and I have a few more stories to tell when I have more mind about me to do so. Right now I think I need to take a nap.
