Okay, so I may not be the most interesting read and I may not say anything that you don't already know but this diary is mainly for myself. I enjoy sharing it with others, particularly my close friends so they know what's happening in my world, but its still mainly for me. I love to type out my thoughts. Its a great break from my otherwise hectic day. And I love reading over old entries and seeing how much life has changed. So enjoy the read but try not to be too critical.

My Morning Routine

In roughly two weeks, our schedules and lives are going to change, dramatically in my opinion. Some moms easily transition into school years, their schedules barely changing. But for other moms, like me, the transition is a big one.

In some ways I think I'm ready. In other ways, I think I'm far from it. The days of lazy mornings are going to be a thing of the past as Morgan will have to be fed, dressed and out the door by 7 am. As I think about it, memories of my childhood flash into my mind. Memories of the best oatmeal being cooked on the stove while we got ready for school. One particular memory comes to mind where Mom woke us up with "you slept through the earth quake this morning". Earthquakes became a normal part of our lives in San Francisco. Our mornings were not hectic and breakfast wasn't skipped. We had cereal a lot of the time but Mom also took the time to make that wonderful oatmeal on cold mornings or poached eggs, which was great and stuck to your ribs! :P

I can only hope to have a routine like that with Morgan. I will have so much more extra time on my hands, I won't know what to do with myself! :P Poor Haidyn might have a hard time adjusting to not having Morgan around to play with. But we'll see. So, two more weeks... I'm going to break down and bawl all over the place the day she starts.
