Okay, so I may not be the most interesting read and I may not say anything that you don't already know but this diary is mainly for myself. I enjoy sharing it with others, particularly my close friends so they know what's happening in my world, but its still mainly for me. I love to type out my thoughts. Its a great break from my otherwise hectic day. And I love reading over old entries and seeing how much life has changed. So enjoy the read but try not to be too critical.
First Day of School
August 15, 2007 - 10:15 p.m.
Well, Morgan had her first day of school today. We got up bright an early to get ready for the big day. Since today was her very first day of school, we decided to drive her. Paul was able to get an "ok" to come in a little late so he was able to go with us, which was great for both Morgan and me! Around 7:20 am, we headed off to school. I was doing good and Morgan's excitement could not be contained. I had taken a couple of pictures of her for the family and had the camera to take more pictures of her as we walked into class. As we rounded the corner and Morgan saw her school building and started to get even more exciting, the mommy (and excess hormones) in me came out and I started bawling. I was crying so bad that I had to ask Paul to take her into the building while Haidyn and I stayed in the car. I was able to get a couple of pictures as they walked into school but I couldn't go with because I would have made a scene. I bawled like a baby when we got home but was able to control my emotions for the rest of the afternoon. That is, until I had to go pick her back up. I decided to take "a back way" to Republic via country roads. Well, I got completely lost and instead of ending in Republic, I was where the large fireworks warehouse next to I-44. And what made things worse was the fact that school was getting out in about 7 minutes (I had left with 20 minutes to spare). I called Paul blubbering and asked him to give me directions back to the other side of town and on to Republic. Thankfully, I arrived right as school was letting out so the poor little girl didn't have to wait forever for me. As we drove home, Morgan rattled on about class and lunch time and how her teacher clapped her hands to get their attention and they clapped back, because they're kindergarteners. It was sweet to hear her talk and yet heart wrenching for me at the same time because my little girl is growing up too fast. ....sigh.... She loved her first day of school and is really looking forward to returning tomorrow. She will be riding the bus for the first time (which I am very nervous about) and I'm sure will have another load of fun things to tell Mommy when she gets home. Now I just hope that I can contain my hormonal impulse to bawl like a baby tomorrow when she climbs on that bus.
